We are looking for a skilled Veterinary Technician to round out our outpatient care services. Job responsibilities would include:
- Scribing for doctor appointments, assisting with restraint and sample collection
- Medical record review and SOAP preparation for doctors
- Running Outpatient Nursing Services appointments for phlebotomy and other sample collection, as well as performing basic husbandry and medical care services such as nail trims, SQ injections, etc.
- Assessing patient response to pre-veterinary visit anti-anxiety medication protocols and providing feedback to the doctor and client
- Collections and processing of lab samples
- Prescription management and fulfillment
- Triage and client communication regarding medical conditions and medication side effects
- Inventory management
- Ensuring practice OSHA and other regulatory compliance
- General support to the doctors and other team members and more
Requirements:
- Certification/degree in Veterinary Technology (Registered, Certified or Licensed)
- Animal restraint skills
- Rockstar at phlebotomy - can hit a vein on the first try in a stressed patient in front of a client
- Skilled at in house cytology reads
- A commitment to positive reinforcement based methodologies of training animals
- Exceptional client service
- "Can Do" and team-oriented attitude
- Resilient and flexible
- Good time management, meticulous record keeping and strong organizational capacity
- History of regular attendance and punctuality
Preferred skills:
- Fear Free certification or experience in low stress handling
- Skilled at reading body language
