Affordable Vet Care is a privately-owned small animal, one doctor practice. We have been an active member of the community practicing for over 8 years in Melbourne. We strive to provide compassion and excellent service to our clients. Our team includes receptionist, an appointment scheduler and a 1:4 doctor tech ratio. We refer out all after hours emergencies and are closed on weekends. We strive to have a work-life balance. We invite you to come join our team.

Here at Affordable Vet Care we are seeking an ideal receptionist who welcomes clients into our practice with a great personality. We strive to have a warm, upbeat person to answer phone calls as well as to greet clients in person.

Duties include:

• Shared handling of a 4-line phone system
• Using a computer with practice software Pluse (eVetPratice)
• Managing Paper Charts
• Using large dog scale
• Escorting clients into exam rooms from parking lot
• Knowledge and understanding of current products and promotions.
• Collecting Payments, including Care Credit
• Scheduling for efficiency
• Keeping a clean workspace
• Preparing for next day clients
• Contacting clients for past due services

The best candidate for this position has the following skill set:

• Walk, bend, stand and reach during 8-hour days including the ability to lift up to 30lbs.
• Maintain accurate records as well as understanding written directions.
• A good work ethic; professionalism, reliability
• Confidence and motivated
• Ability to multitask.
• Diplomacy to handle delicate situations, including emergency situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to file written charts alphabetically.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology
• Ability to learn our current preventive.
• Desire to learn and a self-starter.
