- Client Interaction:
- Demonstrates warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all client interactions.
- Communicates clearly and accurately with clients regarding the medical status of their pet.
- Provides accurate information to clients concerning fees, payment policies and other hospital policies.
- Assess urgency and severity of cases, effectively prioritizing incoming requests based on criticality.
- Communicate with pet owners to gather essential information about the animal's condition and relay this information to the veterinary team.
- Exam Room & In-Patient Assistance:
- Consults with veterinarians daily to plan each day's activities.
- Reviews medical records and notes made by the admitting CSR to discern the nature of the visit.
- Detailed patient history taking and assisting with medical note entry.
- Coordinate with veterinary staff to manage incoming cases, ensuring seamless transitions and appropriate allocation of resources for urgent cases.
- Helps organize daily patient status/updates as needed.
- Enter treatments in SmartFlow treatment sheet software.
- Financial Representation:
- Create and review estimates based on the Doctor's treatment plan to convey the value added by said treatment plans.
- Identify if continuing care treatment plans are warranted for in-patients.
- Reviews invoice for accuracy
- Create and appropriately review discharges per the veterinarian's orders. Ensures understands medications, diet, monitoring and when to recheck.
- Process payments, handle billing inquiries, and assist with insurance-related paperwork as needed.
- Minimum 1 year of Veterinary Doctor's Assistant experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Punctual and reliable
- Proficiency in using computer systems and familiarity with basic office software.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
