Requirements:

• Provide compassionate patient care
• Perform procedures and treatments
• Walk, feed, clean, and medicate patients
• Assess patients, recognizing contagious disease
• Follow relevant protocol
• Assist Veterinarians in surgery and dentist procedures
• Oversee animals recovering from anesthesia
• Provide safe and effective patient restraint
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies
• Maintain high standards of patient care
• Communicate clearly with Veterinarians, other hospital personnel, and clients
• Remain friendly and flexible in the face of varying expectations from coworkers and clients
• Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Admit and release patients
• Maintain knowledge of drugs and their uses
• Complete medical records accurately and efficiently
• Not afraid to work hard or get dirty
• Keep hospital clean and stocked
• Remove trash, sweep, and mop
• Launder blankets, towels, and linen
• Self-starter that takes initiative and enjoys working with a team
• 1+ year of experience in a hospital focusing on small animals
• Must be comfortable in a job that requires walking or standing for extended periods of time
• Must be comfortable lifting, carrying, and restraining animals. Will be assisted by other team members for animals over 40 lbs
• Must have reliable Transportation
• Identify and work compassionately with clients in various emotional states
• Availability to work Weekends and Holidays
• 36-40 hours minimum

• Paid Time Off (PTO) - Employee is eligible to begin accruing PTO after 90 days of employment. Employees who have been employed with Shelby Center 90 days to 5 years earn 50 PTO hours annually. Once eligibility is reached, the first calendar year's hours are pro-rated based on hire date.
• Veterinary Discounts - Employees receive deep Veterinary discounts on 4 chosen pets. (Begins first day of employment)

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday6:50-6:00, Saturday 7:30-12:00
