Seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join the VCA Liberty Animal Hospital team. Duties include, but are not limited to assisting doctors in giving excellent quality pet care, pre and post-surgery monitoring and nursing care, administering medications, placing IV catheters and giving injectables, performing blood draws, fecal and urinary analysis, processing lab work, observing and interpreting microscopic specimens, and sanitation duties of the treatment areas. The position requires working with and lifting small, medium and large animals, bending, leaning, balancing, and carrying 40 pounds.

The successful candidate must exercise discretion and judgment, have a practical knowledge of hospital procedures and services, veterinary terminology, treatment protocols, compassion, assist in coaching and development, and effectively educate clients.  Candidates must be available to work a flex (rotating) schedule including weekends and evenings as scheduled, have reliable transportation, must have excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail.
