Position Title: Veterinary Clinic Receptionist
Location: St. George, Utah
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-exempt (40 hours/wk)
Required Hours: Tues-Fri, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, flexibility to shift to Mon/Tues, Fri/Sat work week
Pay: $16.00 to $18.00 an hour – DOE

Our receptionists create the first impression for our clients, so it is important that they have excellent customer service skills, are passionate about animal welfare, and are able to remain detail and task orientated in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
A minimum of one year of experience as a receptionist is required. The Clinic Receptionist must be able to use basic math skills to calculate and take correct payment amounts and give appropriate change, type 45 wpm, and maintain a high level of accuracy when completing tasks. The right candidate will have experience in customer service, cash handling and business computer experience. Animal handling experience is not required, but is desirable. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, and a salary differential of $0.50 per hour may be paid to bilingual incumbents fluent in Spanish. Other requirements include presenting a professional appearance, having a cooperative attitude toward clients and team members, and understanding and strictly following all verbal and written direction from the Lead Receptionist, Senior Vet Assistant Manage,r and Medical Director.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include checking patients in and out for services, collecting and processing payments, scheduling appointments for public and shelter/rescue clients, daily schedule capacity management, answering phones, emails, and voicemails professionally, educating clients regarding pet vaccination schedules and the benefits of spaying/neutering, ensuring patients are receiving appropriate services for their age and needs, creating a friendly, professional and efficient environment for clients, keeping accurate and detailed records, daily accurate reconciliation and reporting, accurate and appropriate cash handling, providing excellent customer service, ability to multi-task and handle job duties efficiently, communicating effectively in person, over the phone and through email, utilizing low stress animal handling techniques, preparing and administering vaccinations, daily cleaning, helping other staff members, contributing to a positive work environment using tact and diplomacy, and any other duties as assigned by Lead Receptionist, Medical Director, or Senior Vet Assistant Manager.
