The Vehicle Transportation Specialist will support the transportation and logistics of ~400,000 units from production plants and VDC's to dealers and special vehicle moves for numerous C4 departments.
In support of BMW Group's business objectives, this position requires regular attendance at a BMW office/facility with remote work capability (hybrid).
Analyzing:
- Volume Forecast: Calculate current months volume forecast in conjunction with Automotive Sales Objectives.
- Transport Costs: Record, maintain and provide transportation costs differences for contract carrier support.
- Fuel Adjustments: Calculate and distribute fuel adjustment percentages to all carriers; provide critical cost adjustments to ensure appropriate contractual billing.
Reporting:
- Prepare Damage Claim Reports: The damage claim data is provided to me from all carriers and is recorded on and maintained on a rolling 12-month report. The carriers are to maintain at or below the contract threshold of damage percentages on transported vehicles.
- Vessel Report: Calculate vessels/imports by month and by port; ensure all vessel/import variance is transparent to sales, distribution, and VDCs.
- Prepare Aged Reports: To provide list of aged truck pad vehicles to carriers; communicate with all carriers to ensure "late" vehicles are addressed.
Forecasting Support:
- Volume Forecasts: Upon receiving the current month objectives from BMW and MINI, calculate projected volume forecasts and provide to carriers so they can better plan their capacity.
- Transportation Forecasts: Provide volume and total transportation costs forecast to Management and Finance.
Finance:
- Audit, code, and approve all carrier invoicing.
- Calculate, analyze, and provide cost, logistics and historic data for truck and rail tenders.
Administration:
- Set up new carriers in IFT/SAP and in BTC system; Ensure that the carriers have the appropriate equipment that is in line with BMWNA standards and that all insurance coverage/certificate adheres to BMWNA's insurance policies. Request IFT/SAP set up for payments and work directly with BTC to set them up in the BTC system for special moves.
- OCC/Ocean Carrier Communication: Responsible for monitoring EDI data of VIN loading and carrier ETA messages for vessels in our shipment schedule.
- Brian Thomas Companies (NTC) Assist and monitor special moves; maintain user and WBS information in BTC system for various departments.
- Rail providers to ensure adequate supply of rail car to Greer for shipments to WR. Coordinate special rail moves when necessary to achieve objectives.

The pay range for this role is: $74,831.00 - $87,642.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
