Healthcare Staffing Professionals is currently looking for a Vascular Interventional Technologist to work in San Diego, CA. Candidates will assist in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Your role involves operating sophisticated radiographic equipment in a high-tech, fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate
$66/hr = $528 per shift
Shift:
8hr/shift; Standby on call after hours, weekends, holidays
Job duties:
  • Perform a wide range of vascular and interventional radiography procedures, including but not limited to angiography, embolization, stenting, and thrombolysis.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and addressing any concerns.
  • Operate and maintain all radiographic and imaging equipment, including CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy units.
  • Administer contrast media and medications as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Monitor patient condition and response during and after procedures, reporting any adverse reactions or changes to the physician immediately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation in compliance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and be available to assist in emergency procedures outside of regular hours as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, radiation protection standards, and infection control practices.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and maintain certifications.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited department angiography interventional training program.
  • Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification with a Fluoroscopy Permit.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification, with advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) and/or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification in venipuncture.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with pediatric and adult patients in an interventional radiology setting.
  • Knowledge of current technologies and practices in Vascular Interventional radiology.
