Healthcare Staffing Professionals is currently looking for a Vascular Interventional Technologist to work in San Diego, CA. Candidates will assist in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Your role involves operating sophisticated radiographic equipment in a high-tech, fast-paced environment.

Job duties:
- Perform a wide range of vascular and interventional radiography procedures, including but not limited to angiography, embolization, stenting, and thrombolysis.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and addressing any concerns.
- Operate and maintain all radiographic and imaging equipment, including CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy units.
- Administer contrast media and medications as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with hospital policies.
- Monitor patient condition and response during and after procedures, reporting any adverse reactions or changes to the physician immediately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation in compliance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations and be available to assist in emergency procedures outside of regular hours as needed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, radiation protection standards, and infection control practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development and maintain certifications.
- Successful completion of an accredited department angiography interventional training program.
- Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification with a Fluoroscopy Permit.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification, with advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) and/or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certification in venipuncture.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on patient care.
- Experience with pediatric and adult patients in an interventional radiology setting.
- Knowledge of current technologies and practices in Vascular Interventional radiology.
