Job description

Plume Health is a passion-fueled, mission-driven company that is trans-founded and focused on radically increasing access to healthcare for the trans community, supporting a bold, authentic and healthy lifestyle. We hope to make gender-affirming hormone therapy easily accessible at the touch of a button in every state of the US. We are an organization by and for trans folks and we want heart-forward, awesomely talented teammates to join us on our journey.

This work is deeply personal and heart-driven, and we want teammates who, above all else, care about the mission and the people we serve. For the right candidates, we present a rare opportunity to do well by doing good. Plume offers an affirming, trans-centered, culturally inclusive and fun work environment filled with purpose.

We are seeking a Product Designer to join our team at Plume. Your primary role will be to conduct rapid and methodical UX research, and effectively communicate polished UI ideas to a range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will leverage user research, visual designs, information architecture, usability testing, and prototype validation to help us create the best user experience possible for our website application and our end users.

Ultimately, your success hinges on your ability to create desirable, functional, and feasible solutions that impactfuly address our clients’ needs and grow our customer base. Beyond competency, we expect our design peers to collaborate well by building trust across teams.

Great candidates for this role see challenges as opportunities, approach interactions with authenticity (and tact), and have a deep familiarity with the Transgender Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) spectrum of experiences. If you also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web applications, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilites:

  • Leverage a human-centered design process to deliver an easy-to-use user interface and user experience
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
  • Research customers, competitors, and products
  • Develop personas, scenarios, and user stories
  • Work with stakeholders to identify requirements
  • Create UI wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups to illustrate ideas clearly
  • Develop and implement usability testing
  • Design for accessibility standards and best practices
  • Create and maintain usability documentation
  • Work with engineers to ensure product quality
  • Collaborate with QA to write acceptance criteria that inform tests
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Work closely with product managers and marketing to maximize customer success
  • Ensure products are tested with customers and validated against business goals

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human-computer interaction, interaction design, computer science, or a related technical field
  • 6+ years of industry experience as a visual designer
  • Working knowledge of UX/UI design principles
  • Graphic design tools such as Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Wireframing/prototyping tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, or Zeplin
  • UX design tools such as Figma or InVision
  • Experience with user testing and usability analysis
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Great time-management skills; including effective prioritization skills
  • Experience with WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards
  • Understanding of language translation and localization impacts to user interface design

Healthcare experience, especially within the LGBTQ+ spectrum, is a plus!
Full-Time Employee Benefits and Perks:

Though Independent Contractors are not Eligible, All Full Time Employees are Eligible for:

  • Ground-Floor Equity (Series B)
  • Free Medical, Dental, Vision on the first of the month after you start full-time work
