We are seeking an URGENT - Medical Assistant To Podiatry Practice to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.
The position we are looking to fill requires a person with excellent customer service, attention to detail, with positive attitude.
Previous experience as Medical Assistant or medical scribe helpful.
Experience in orthopedics or podiatry a plus.
Our new team member should also be self motivated, dependable,and detail oriented. Able to work independently or with the team.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
- Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
- Escort patients to exam rooms, get patient history and enter into EMR
- Stocking rooms
- Scribe for doctor
- Send orders and prescriptions as needed.
- Assist in back office with doing digital x-rays, application and removal of casts and fitting with supplies
- Transcribe in templates as the provider sees the patients
- Pre-certification and/or prior authorizations as needed
- Answering phones
- Setting appointments
- Training in all areas of the clinic to cover as needed
- Customer Service face to face and over the phone
- Follow provider documenting visit with the patient into the EMR
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare or other related fields
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures
- Familiarity with EMR systems - kareo preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
