As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care for patients with foot and ankle conditions. Your assistance in treating and preventing foot-related problems will help improve the quality of life for each patient. Responsibilities:
- Travel to and from clinics, based on physician scheduled location (Bedford & Flower Mound)
- Verify patient information, medical history, and confirm purpose of visit.
- Prepare patients for examination.
- Assist with treatment/prevention of foot and ankle conditions and injuries.
- Assist with minor in office surgical procedures.
- Send prescriptions electronically to pharmacies.
- Submit orders for diagnostic tests, labs, etc.
- Provide additional patient education.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment
- Protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, office policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of foot and ankle anatomy, conditions, and treatments
- Effective with minor in office surgical procedures.
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) *Preferred, Not Required*
- 2+ years in a medical office
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology
- Previous experience in specific medical field preferred
Note: Experience with X-ray technology, medical billing and coding are preferred but not required.
