The Unit Clerk / Telemetry Technician position provides technical and clerical support to nursing staff on the Medical/Surgical/Telemetry units. This position supports the Mission of the Hospital through the provision of distinctive and compassionate care to our patients. The Unit Clerk/Telemetry Technician answers phone calls, interacts/directs patients, visitors, and physicians, and responds to call lights. In addition, they are responsible for maintaining the filing system and identifying normal, abnormal and lethal cardiac rhythms. If needed, they initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the lethal cardiac rhythm.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
- Telemetry monitoring course certificate and BLS for healthcare provider’s card upon hire.
- Must be CPI certified within 30 days of employment
- 1-2 years’ experience as telemetry technician in an acute care facility preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate the knowledge of cardiac rhythms, recognition of life-threatening rhythms with appropriate interventions and notifications, use of computer and general office equipment. Ability to perform multiple clerical functions.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Knowledgeable in of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHLB/Glendora Hospital roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CHLB/Glendora Hospital in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
