Job description

The Staff Services Manager (SSM) I assumes supervisory responsibility of the Behavioral Health Administrative Support Unit (BHASU) and provides oversight for all associated work. The SSM I is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, and managing of unit staff. Duties additionally include supervising the Unit's efforts to provide quality oversight and administrative, budgetary, and personnel services, and facilities management.
This is position is eligible for telework. Please refer to the duty statement attached below and the "Working Conditions" section on this Job Control for additional information.

Working Conditions
Telework may be allowable at 100% based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 - 14203 for employees residing in California.
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Behavioral Health (BH) Deputy Director's Office is located in Sacramento, CA. However, BH will consider qualified applicants throughout the State who are interested in this position. Should the incumbent need to report to an office they will need to report, at their own expense, to DHCS/BH headquarters located at 1501 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95814.

The Behavioral Health Administrative Support Unit (BHASU) provides quality oversight and administrative, budgetary, and personnel support services, contracts and procurement, Public Records Act (PRA) requests, and the coordination of facilities management and space planning to Behavioral Health, including the Behavioral Health Planning Council, the Community Services Division, the Licensing and Certification Division, the Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Oversight and Monitoring Division and the Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Policy Division.
