Ultrasound Tech - Part Time

Join the Palms Imaging team as an Ultrasound Technologist who performs high quality exams focusing on patient care and education in an outpatient setting. Candidates with ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification and 1 year of experience performing high quality exams independently highly preferred.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of ultrasound equipment, monitoring the quality of images and acting as liaison between technologists and radiologists to ensure highest quality is maintained at all times.
• Effectively coordinates activities in modality, ensuring that patient flow is accomplished in an orderly and timely fashion.
• Manages technical personnel by completing competencies, performance appraisals, providing education, and providing timely feedback to direct reports on a regular basis by way of coaching and/or corrective action.
• Participates in achievement of organizational and department goals with a strong emphasis on service excellence and quality of care; actively participates in quality initiatives to meet quality goals and ACR accreditation readiness targets.
• Completes administrative duties in a timely manner including tracking time and attendance, ensures tech review of orders is completed in a timely manner, monitors accuracy of documentation in radiology system and ensuring that mandatory education, credentialing, and annual competencies are completed in a timely manner.
• Participates in the achievement of departmental financial targets by monitoring supplies and expiration dates to prevent waste and monitoring staffing schedule according to patient volumes.
• Actively participates in all required system and departmental meetings.
• Actively participates in the American College of Radiology accreditation process (if applicable) and subsequent related maintenance/imaging quality reporting.
• Assists manager with development of staff by being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development. Provides manager with feedback on staff performance, educational needs and workflow status.
• Completes Ultrasound Technician worksheets
• Use appropriate test guidelines and protocols
• Protects patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines
• Responsible for keeping valid licensure
• Other duties as assigned

Certification Requirement

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) credentialed
