Overview
Manages the Sylvan Learning Title I program to insure adherence to Sylvan Learning educational standards. The Program Manager hires, trains and oversees the performance of teachers and assistants where applicable, assists with testing students and oversees the conferencing of students, principals, classroom teachers and parents under the direction of the Community Director of School Services and Executive Director. Works closely with the Community Director of School Services to ensure the implementation of quality programming. Ensures customer satisfaction through problem solving and frequent communication. Helps secure the internal and external resources needed to provide efficient and effective service to all stakeholders and provide leadership to the teaching staff. Other duties may be assigned.
Position Summary
- Assure customer satisfaction, program quality assurance, and student achievement.
- Reports concerns regarding instructional needs, materials and supplies.
- Ensures customer service and program problems are communicated to the regional director or senior management immediately.
- Communicate with the Community Director of School Services regarding instructional issues and concerns.
- Responsible for preparing teachers to successfully complete their quality assurance review and assuring that all teachers complete Sylvan Learning teacher training component.
- Trains, observes and supports teachers. Supervision to include informal and formal lesson observations and professional development.
- Manage a tutoring substitute pool and be willing to tutor if needed to ensure program continuity.
- Assist teachers with the completion and submission of company, district, state, or federal required forms.
- Assure customer satisfaction, program quality assurance, and student achievement.
- Communicates with school principal and classroom teachers concerning program implementation.
- Ensures customer service and program problems are communicated to the regional director or senior management immediately.
- Establishes a positive professional rapport with school staff, principals, and the school district.
- Continues to grow the program and work towards renewal of contracts.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate. At least two years related supervisory experience in education. Must be able to teach all basic skills or other related areas. Must interact with students, families, site-level teachers, and administrators.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Has the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple priorities and travel between multiple school sites. Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude towards internal and external customers. Must be flexible.
