Position: Trust Accounting Assistant
Department: Trust
Status: Full Time
Description: Position for a detail-oriented individual in the trust department. Responsible for assisting the department officers in ensuring transactions and postings are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Assists in customer service with walk-ins or phone calls; daily reconciling of accounts; preparation of updates to database; handling incoming mail and preparing reply correspondence. Must have intermediate to advanced level computer skills especially with Excel, communication and customer service skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Previous accounting and/or bookkeeping experience required, previous banking experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly posting of accounts as assigned
- Daily reconciling of in-house accounts
- Preparation of tickets for incoming or outgoing transactions
- Front-line customer service for walk-ins and incoming calls
- Handle incoming mail; reply with correspondence as needed
- Create, bill, and process the quarterly billing for clients
- Other trust department duties to include filing, scanning, copying, inputting data, etc. as needed
- Directly reports to Trust Officer
Qualifications:
- Previous accounting/bookkeeping/banking experience or accounting background
- Customer service skills
- Intermediate to advance computer skills
- Intermediate to advanced calculation skills
- Clear communication skills
- Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work with deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to work overtime when needed (limited basis)
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Strong organizational skills
Education and Experience:
- Some college preferred with focus in accounting
