Our continuum of care addresses every stage and aspect of what children may be experiencing after traumas caused by mental illness, abuse, or neglect. With help from The Buckeye Ranch, they’re empowered to overcome obstacles, tap into their resilience, and move forward toward healthy, fulfilling lives.

The Treatment Coordinator works with youth and families to successfully transition back to public school by providing short-term aftercare services and care coordination. Meets with Secondary students to provide vocational skills training and guidance with accessing community resources. Meets with families to assess financial and basic needs presenting as barriers to successfully engaging in academic and treatment activities. Links families with community resources and coordinates the process for scholarships and educational funding. Conducts data analysis and various reporting. Provides coverage for groups as needed.

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt (Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm)

Location: West Broad St. Columbus, Ohio (In-Office)

What you’ll do:

  • Assesses clients for appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, including frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts.
  • Identifies history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s), functioning, and family interaction styles. Determines the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or neglect to children.
  • Develops collaborative relationships with providers of services tailored to the needs of culturally diverse healthcare consumers and family members.
  • Develops training plans and facilitates coaching, ensuring that services are family focused.
  • Ensures that referrals are made as early in treatment as possible. Ensures family members are supported through the discharge process. Communicates changes in recommendations and/or referrals in a timely and concise manner to all stakeholders. Links children and families to resources to meet the client’s needs.
  • Establishes rapport; maintains effective working relationships with diverse individuals in a nurturing and emotionally safe manner while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Uses trauma-informed, focused interventions to engage clients. Educates clients, family members, and other providers about healthcare conditions, prevention, available treatments, illness and whole health self-management, peer support and recovery.
  • Manages behavioral health crises through appropriate interventions. Respond to perceived resistance in a non-confrontational manner and intervene to help child regain control and reduce risk at it pertains to the position held.
  • Supports the safety of youth at the time of placement as it pertains to the position held.
  • Complete documentation timely and appropriately for reimbursement and for alternative funding for youth and family benefits in accordance with established standards.
  • Handles difficult situations in a professional and respectful manner. Is quality-focused, timely, and exhibits a solid work ethic.

    Who you are:

    • You have a bachelor’s degree in social work, clinical counseling, or related field (Masters preferred) 
    • You have1 to 2 years of clinical training and professional experience
    • LSW or LPC licensure (required)
    • Proficiency with computer programs necessary to complete the above tasks; including Microsoft
