Traveling Outside Sales- Cnc Machining

TheTraveling Outside Sales- CNC Machining position is responsible for developing and closing on new sales opportunities by selling First’s full array of machining services. They must manage customer relationships and maintain a very high level of customer service while integrating themselves into the customer’s purchasing process.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prospecting and developing new, high-volume customers
• Negotiate and close on sales opportunities to drive overall company revenue growth via phone, video conference and in-person meetings
• Manage customer relationships with all established customers
• Collaborate with production control, quoting, operations, quality, engineering, and sales management to maximize revenue
• Create forecasts, sales goals, target customers and customer plans
• Create your own schedule for sales calls and ability to work independently
• Assist in company marketing efforts – plant tours, trade shows, direct sales programs, digital marketing campaigns
• Enthusiasm for building new customer relationships and the ability to turn cold calls into face-to-face meetings
• Creative, proactive, hardworking, trustworthy, and highly motivated
• Help company drive Continuous Improvement efforts

• Travel 50%-75% of the time
  

Qualifications:

• 4-year degree preferred; or equivalent work experience
• 2 years’ experience as a successful B2B sales representative, with experience in manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge of machining processes (Horizontal, Multi-tasking, Swiss, VMC)
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience using CAD, CAM, ERP, data analysis programs, and related software a plus
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

This job may work indoors or outdoors. This role routinely may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions and equipment, may work inside closed vehicles; uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and drive. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may climb a height of at least 12 ft; walk on uneven terrain; be exposed to loud noises. The employee must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs and may be required to push or pull 100 pounds. Travel 50%-75% of the time.

About us

First Manufacturing (“First”) began part-time in January 2003 in Rocklin, California with a manual mill and a manual lathe. In October 2003, the business moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and began expanding its machining capability becoming a full-time business in August 2006. Since that time, First has expanded by moving to Humboldt, South Dakota, purchased state of the art manufacturing equipment to increase productivity and efficiency with expanded capability. In 2019, First purchased Specialized Machine in Tea, South Dakota to expand its capabilities and capacity. Now with a full staff of machinists and operators and a wide range of CNC machines with varying capabilities, First is ready to bring on a manufacturing engineer to enhance our processes.
