Job Overview
The Transportation Vehicle Fleet Manager is responsible for the direct management and supervision of Transportation Department including material handling; fleet/equipment maintenance and management; and freight receiving and hazardous material management in storage.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Manages all transportation functions in support of the contract including operations and maintenance, passenger processing and transportation, cargo movement, VEHICLE FLEET management and maintenance of LAFB vehicles.
- Oversees passenger processing, DV passenger protocol support, and the LAFB flight line shuttle service.
- Oversees efficient and economical operation of the base VEHICLE FLEET.
- Acts as CLFS' transportation liaison in support of exercises, accidents, contingency operations, and disaster response activities.
- Serves as the transportation liaison on transportation issues with Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve units.
- Ensures Transportation Department employees comply with all USAF and DOT regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in Vehicle Operations.
- Current Texas Class CDL Driver's License
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience or equivalent training in FM&A and DPAS operations and or equivalent accounting systems and procedure as required by the Laughlin AFB BOSS PWS.
- Have experience establishing and managing the Vehicle Control Program (VCP).
- Demonstrated FLEET MANAGER level experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of logistics support requirements and support of airfield operations and training programs
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- General knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair, vehicle scheduling, and cargo/freight operations
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government National Agency Check (NAC) clearance and/or security clearance if required.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record pertinent to this position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
