Position Summary

To assist the Corporate Logistics & Transportation Department to design, develop and implement the vision, strategy and tools for Parker's worldwide logistics efforts that will allow Parker to execute the Win Strategy.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

Position will directly report to the Director of Corporate Logistics & Transportation or the Manager - North American (Region) Logistics & Transportation and have frequent interaction with all levels of Parker employees and supplier representatives. The position will be located at Parker Hannifin's Corporate Headquarters in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. The work arrangement is hybrid (4 days in-office and 1 day remote).
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Design, develop, and implement transportation & logistics programs on a global basis
Leverage Parker's spend with providers of transportation services
Assist with price & contract term negotiations for various transportation modes
Assist with analyzing and monitoring transportation programs to insure carrier compliance
Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs
Publish transportation metrics
Analyze divisional/corporate transportation spend and identify saving opportunities
Consult Parker's operations on logistics improvement opportunities
Conduct/Support division freight workshops/kaizen events
Assist with integrating acquisitions into Parker's logistics programs
Identify lean logistics transportation opportunities (Milk-runs & cross docks.)
Assist with network design studies.
Help insure quality of freight audit, payment and reporting
Assist Implementing/maintaining global TMS
Various logistics projects & tasks
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (BA) in Supply Chain Management or related field or currently pursuing a Bachelors degree with expected completion on or before May 2024. For current students, the target start date for the position would be Spring 2024.
Industry relevant certifications desired (i.e. APICS)
- 2-month internship or co-op in supply chain or related area
1+ years logistics/supply chain experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Assertive, strong initiative, highly organized, customer focused
Collaborative in a matrix oriented environment
