RECRUITMENT:The State Highway Administration’s (SHA) District 3 is recruiting for a Transportation Engineering Technician I in Prince George’s County.This is an Interview and Hire position that is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below for this position.
This announcement many also be used for future SHA vacancies throughout the state of Maryland.

Nature of Work:This is a primary level technical engineering work wherein incumbents perform a variety of engineering support tasks. The Transportation Engineering Technician will learn basic plan reading, construction inspection methods, proper construction inspection techniques, and testing methods of materials used in highway and bridge construction. They will also learn how to read and interpret contract documents. Employees in this classification receive continuous training under the direct supervision of a higher-level technician.MDOT offers a generous and competitive benefits package. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
EXPERIENCE: None.
Licenses & Certifications
Candidates must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland. All applicants must list their license number and expiration date on the application.
