What you will do:
- Manage the Cleveland Innerbelt Corridor/Modernization program.
- Assist with property management (land acquisition, land disposal, leases, permits, etc.) for property associated with the Innerbelt Corridor.
- Meet with project stakeholders, property owners, regulators, and/or public officials during the project development process.
- Coordinate regularly with FHWA on the status of the Cleveland Innerbelt Corridor program.
- Supervise Transportation Engineers who mainly provide project management services for ODOT capital projects.
- Provide performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Provide engineering support to ODOT Construction field personnel for active construction projects.
- Provide guidance to fellow CPA staff members in the project development process.
- Provide guidance on alternative project delivery methods for capital projects.
- Review ODOT standards, policies, procedures and provide input.
- Develop/review engineering policies to support capital project management.
- Coordinate with Central Office on Major Projects, including leading the quarterly District/Central Office Major Projects meetings.

We are seeking a licensed P.E. in the State of Ohio who is conscientious, well organized, multi-tasking, self-directed, open-minded, and a good problem solver. The candidate should have a good understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and the ODOT project development process. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting and building relationships with various project stakeholders. The unique candidate should have the ability to understand the highly technical aspects of engineering design and be able communicate in a way that is easily understood by the public. A candidate who can lead a team to identify, understand, and work through challenges will be successful in this position and find it rewarding!

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
