JOB TITLE: Transportation Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Juvenile Reporting Center (JRC)
SUPERVISOR: JRC Supervisor
POSITON GRADE: 73 [ Salary Range 15hr-20hr commensurate with education and experience]
JOB SUMMARY:
Transporter is responsible for transporting, coordinating and providing support as requested to clients for JRC Program, Workforce Development, and to community resources; providing quality care and supervision for clients assigned. Carries out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Strategic Plan
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Exercises full compliance with the Agency is Code of Conduct, all Agency Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality and security for all client and staff related materials and/or records.
- Responsible for providing and coordinating the safe day to day transport and support of Villa clients to clients for JRC Program, Workforce Development, and to community resources; including, but not limited to employment, shopping, recreation activities, etc.
- Provides individual and group supervision and accounts for all youth in care at all times
- Responsible for the timely completion and accuracy of all transportation paperwork and in accordance with Villa Policy.
- Partners with Facility Operations around cleanliness of agency vehicles & maintenance of regular cleaning needs
- Ability to travel in all weather conditions throughout the counties served.
- Assists recreation staff to develop weekly recreation activity calendar and supports the youth while participating in the activities.
- Contact families and youth with concerns and supports for JRC program
- Coordinates transportation routes throughout Monroe County
- Transports youth to and from home.
- Participates and Facilitates “Just Try” along with Probation
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to established policies and procedures and makes suggestions for improvement as needed.
- Exhibits punctuality to work, attendance, meetings, trainings and other assigned duties.
- Demonstrates, promotes, and practices cultural competency towards clients, families and staff with respect and understanding achieved through training and Agency cultural activities.
- Other responsibilities as designated by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
- Valid NY State Driver’s License required that meets Agency's driver guidelines.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid preferred
- Experience in working with high risk youth is preferred
- One year experience working with adolescents in a residential setting or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to complete all required trainings within 60 days of employment
- Must Be able to Work Evenings
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Ability to work evening shifts.
- Ability to handle multiple high risk youth with limited support
