- LBS I
- High school/Transition program teaching experience preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Special Education teacher in a District 200 Transition program functions as a case manager for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Specifically-design curriculum and instructional materials for each student in the area of functional life skills.
- Design and support behavior intervention and management strategies tailored to meet the individual emotional/behavioral needs of each student.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Transition services and programs available to students and have a working knowledge of SSI/SSDI, and PUNS/Day One PACT programs and services.
- Consult and collaborate with team members on a regular basis.
- Maintain all aspects of an IEP, manage and monitor progress toward goals, and meet mandated timelines for IEP compliance.
- Design and implement a schedule for regular communication with parents.
- Evaluate student progress toward post-secondary outcomes.
- Be able to assist in personal care of students, with training and assistance.
- Maintain student confidentiality
- Works collaboratively with staff and administration.
- Displays professional work attire and grooming.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Exhibits positive attitude toward job responsibilities.
