The Administrative Assistant's role is to perform various clerical and administrative duties to organize, coordinate and schedule school office activities, assist the administration in routine tasks, and perform school public relations.
Reports to: Building Administration, Director of Student Services, and Assistant Director of Student Services
Work Year: 199 workdays
Essential Functions:
- Assists families with the completion of enrollment information
- Manages student records and transfers
- Supports the building administration by finding and securing substitute teachers
- Supports and assists the building administration with purchasing, budgeting, and receiving materials
- Organizes, coordinates, and schedules a variety of activities to assist the building administration and Student Services Department (including, but not limited to, field trips, community based instruction, building usage,truancy, special education records, report cards, bank deposits, etc.)
- Create and design presentations and materials for the building administration and Student Services Department Prepare and accurately maintain a variety of reports, records, and files relating to operations and activities
- Compose professional messages and assist the building administration with creating and sending communication to the school community
- Contacts parents and families on behalf of the administration
- Provide information concerning school policies, procedures, actions, activities, and schedules as appropriate
- Maintain the school calendar/school website
- Complies with and executes district safety protocols
- Provides records and data entry support to the Student Services Department
- Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE OF:

- Microsoft Office and Google software Record-keeping techniques

- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary

Physical Demands:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting, or walking
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing

Experience:
- Previous educational setting experience preferred

- High School diploma or equivalent
