Description
The Training Specialist will be responsible for the development, coordination, and presentation of team member educational programs. This training will be done to ensure: regulatory compliance, product knowledge, successful completion of operational tasks that results in providing Legendary Service. The Training Specialist will have a direct impact on creating a culture of excellence that influences team member effectiveness and performance. These responsibilities include facilitating individual and group educational sessions and coordination of branch staff activities, training and education.
Essential Functions
Ensure team delivers service, to both internal and external members, in alignment with the credit union's Service Promises.

- Ensure the team is effectively and efficiently trained and cross-trained in all phases of his/her/their particular job(s).
- Conduct training of new team members to educate on the overall credit union history, outlining the branch regulations, knowledge of procedures and policies and successful completion of the procedural steps needed to complete the role/responsibility of associated job transactions. Schedule and conduct ongoing team member education sessions, after initial onboarding.
- Create a mentorship program that provides assistance to new hires for their first 30/60/90/120 days.
- Keep current with training trends and regulatory/compliance issues with continuing education by attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional training organizations.
- Evaluate, audit and update educational programs, procedures, and materials that impact member experience as needed and at a minimum audit all materials annually.
- Conduct research, select appropriate instructional methods, develop curricula, presentation and handouts, and manage the training for all staff. Regularly participate in member experience activities in the classroom as well as in the branches to identify educational opportunities.
- Answers questions and assist with problems. Convey and clarifies new branch procedures and act as a resource consultant to frontline staff. Ensure consistency in service by identifying policy and procedural differences throughout operations and recommending corrections.
- Attend and actively participate in committees, product development and project wheel meetings in order to build the appropriate documents, training tools, testing and implementation schedules for a successful roll-out.
- Works with the department heads and managers to coordinate and schedule training needs for the individual and/or team.
- Optimizes the learning management system as a tool to improve employee performance in meeting credit union goals. Use new feature releases; research, identify and utilize digital and interactive programs that can be incorporated into training and presentation programs.

Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent. Two-year college degree preferred.
- (3) Three years training experience preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a financial institution or in a training/teaching capacity.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, public speaking and customer service skills preferred.
- Working knowledge of technology including PC with Windows OS, Microsoft Office products, projectors, scanners, online training platforms and mobile computer devices.
- Local, state and occasional out-of-state travel is required. Travel approximately 50% of the job.
