Description of Position:
The Technology & Data Office (TDO) is looking for an approachable, energetic, motivated, detail oriented and engaged professional to join their team. You will work with some of the most passionate, dedicated, and capable team members who are committed to making a difference and delivering excellent customer service. Above all, you will be at the center of an exciting change for the betterment of the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE). The mission of TDO is to provide technology solutions and actionable data to empower data-driven decisions through the highest level of customer service. As a core member of the team, you will maintain and expand various support operations throughout the Department. This position will play a critical role in advancing DDOE's modernization efforts and the management of technology resources. Working in collaboration with DDOE staff, this individual will be part of a dynamic team to ensure the highest level of customer service and training is executed.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain training videos, training materials, and resources for department staff on Microsoft Office solutions and other technology solutions provided by DDOE.
- Coordinate and conduct training as necessary with department and LEA staff.
- Collaborate with the Digital Learning team on joint projects and trainings as needed.
- Invest time and effort in developing the technology skills of DDOE staff.
- Collaborate with department staff, Local Education Agencies (LEAs), and State Agencies for continuous improvement through software development enhancements.
- Serve as an assistant Information Security Officer (ISO) for DDOE.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Account Management Team Lead and Director of TDO.
Education: A bachelor's degree or higher; areas of management information systems, computer science, public administration, communications, education, social sciences, and business administration preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of three years' experience at the Local Education Agency (LEA) level.
- A minimum of three years' experience creating training videos, documentation, or educational resources.
- A minimum of three years' experience with educational systems and providing support to educational staff.
- Exemplary writing and communication skills.
- Possess a growth mindset with a demonstrated ability to independently and proactively problem solve.
- Project management skills resulting in executable project plans with reasonable goals and time frames.
- Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively with the highest degree of accuracy, while working in an environment of fluctuating priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to disseminate information on both a technical and general operational level.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact, engage, and meet staff where they are.
- Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority.
Salary will be computed in accordance with the education, experience, and training of the individual selected and in accordance with salary schedules for employees of the Department of Education. Direct deposit of payroll checks is a condition of state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
