Training & Outreach Coordinator I Youth Services (Olympic Suicide Prevention Center)

This position is partially remote. The pay range for this position is between $27.30 - $30.33 per hour.

Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the SPC and Teen Line programs’ youth focused community training and outreach related activities and providing guidance to the participants and the program. This position also supports the SPC training and outreach team in all non-youth focused community outreach activities and events.


Primary Duties

  • Serve as the lead and main point of contact (for assigned counties) for questions and information related to county and community sponsored youth-focused trainings and outreach activities.
  • Serve as the primary presenter and program representative at youth, parent, school and youth service provider trainings and outreach events.
  • Participate in all suicide prevention training and outreach in assigned counties.
  • Under the guidance of the program’s managers, regularly update and maintain existing curriculum and may create new training presentations.
  • Support the training and outreach program’s database maintenance and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and support volunteers for speaking engagements or health/info tables.
  • Support the training and outreach team in updating and maintaining the Speakers’ Bureau for suicide prevention requests.
  • Track dissemination and initiated outreach promoting trainings – including discussions resulting from related outreach.
  • Support program management in identifying areas with limited youth mental health and suicide prevention resources and in engaging underserved communities.
  • May conduct ASIST workshops for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within Didi Hirsch training department and the SPC crisis line program.
  • Provide and disseminate information related to and discuss training for trainers requirements with potential candidates.
  • Promote awareness of trainings throughout designated counties including the program’s menu of suicide prevention trainings, ASIST T4Ts, safeTALK T4Ts, 2-day ASIST workshops, and ½ day safeTALK workshops.

Position Requirements

  • Working knowledge of mental health services and suicide prevention
  • Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, Department of Social Services, and other state, federal regulations related to outpatient and crisis line.
  • Public speaking/presentation experience.
  • Advanced skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Effectively collaboration and relationship building.
  • Telephone and personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
  • Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
