JOB SUMMARY:

Working under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Intake/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of resident intake and community outreach efforts. The coordinator will oversee the intake procedure of all incoming residents which involves capturing basic client data upon entry into the program and completing personal assessments of incoming residents. In addition to intake procedures, the coordinator will also be active in the community by gathering information relevant to services needed for the residents to achieve program goals. The individual fulfilling this position must be capable of independent thinking and action while representing the policies, priorities, and values of Maryvale at all times. This individual will work in collaboration with other program/department manager/directors to ensure effective communication and integration of services. The individual in this position will be evaluated on his/her skills and conduct as they apply to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Agency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AA degree in Human Services related field; education can be substituted with relevant experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in fast paced, administrative settings with time sensitive deadlines.
  • 2 years’ experience working with those suffering from homelessness and/or housing insecurities; or experience in a similar setting or with a similar resident population.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage projects with demanding and competing deadlines, superior organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a quality workplace in a diverse, fast paced, and changing environment. Ability to work independently, as necessary.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Follow the Trauma Informed Care philosophy when supporting and addressing the needs of the children and families Maryvale serves.
  • Utilize Trauma Informed Care approach in recognizing the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledge the role that trauma has played in the lives of the clients/residents.
  • Assist in the healing process by developing appropriate RICH® (Respect, Information, Connection and Hope) relationships with those served.
  • Follow Universal Precautions when exposed to blood and body fluids.
  • Follow Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) regulations pertaining to safety and the use of equipment/machinery.

A. Administrative

  • Under the direction of the Family Housing Program Manager, the Intake/Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all client intake information is accurately captured, and input into the system.
  • Provide reports as directed on the number and type of inquiries/referrals/intake.
  • Record and monitor all leads and referrals to the program.
  • Communicate with various community programs via telephone, fax, and email in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Accurately notate resident files with updates from community linkages.
  • Assist case management with community referrals for residents.
  • Ensure all intake packets are assembled completely and accurately prior to residents arriving at the program.

B. Program

  • Responsible for connecting the program with the surrounding community.
  • Capture family intake and exit planning process to ensure guidelines of the program are being followed.
  • Administer client history intake assessments for residents.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely preparation and submission of reports related to the Family Housing program when requested.
  • Build and maintain healthy, productive professional relationships with residents. Set and observe appropriate boundaries, safeguard client confidentiality.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with various community organizations.
  • Work with Program Manager to identify community agencies and community events to communicate program offerings.
  • Coordinate outreach activities including attendance at related events distributing information collateral and delivering presentations focused on Family Housing.
  • Collaborate with community partners for linkage to resources for the residents.
  • Ensure screenings, linkage for services, health insurance and assistance eligibility, and follow-up for other needed services are completed in a timely manner.
  • Occasionally attend community resource meetings directly related to Maryvale’s service areas.
  • Have open and constant communication with case management to be knowledgeable of community services the residents may benefit from.

When transporting the children of the Seton House program:

  • Ensure that children assigned to his/her/their care are always visually supervised.
  • Communicate immediately with supervisor and/or Director regarding concerns or questions.
  • Exhibit compassionate service, utilizing patience and empathy.
  • Use common sense and good judgement to act in accordance with Maryvale policy and procedure. Problem solve and make sound judgments in all areas affecting the care and supervision of the children.
  • When necessary, call for assistance and respond to emergency situations accordingly.
  • Provide for the safe transportation of children to and from home, school, and other activities including but not limited to: Emergencies, After-School activities, and Field Trips.
  • Ensure that children are always using appropriate age/weight safety restraint equipment, i.e. seatbelts, car seats/booster seats.
  • Drivers are responsible for ensuring the safety of their passengers and themselves by making sure that all laws (local, state, federal- DMV & CHP) and Maryvale policies and procedures are implemented and always followed.

C. Personnel

  • Maintain and promote a cooperative, collaborative environment in alignment with the philosophy and policies of Maryvale.
  • Facilitate effective resident relations including problem solving, mediation, crisis intervention, and de-escalation.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

  • Position may require evening hours and weekend availability to be arranged to meet residents’ needs and that of the overall program.
  • Maintain consistent attendance to meet the needs of the program.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
