Summary of Position:

Work with all members of the various company departments to acquire various technical knowledge of Collins & Jewell Company Inc processes, projects, and customers. Focus on the development and delivery of training content.  Support other production processes as determined on a case-by-case basis.
The primary reporting relationship is to Program Manager of Training and Development.  Work for other departments must be done through collaboration between department leaders and the Program Manager of Training and Development. 

Key Responsibilities
The individual who performs this position with excellence will:
Basic
o   Represent Collins & Jewell Company Inc properly including professional behavior and professional written and spoken correspondence.
o   Adhere to all company policy including Safety, HR, etc. in a way that sets an example to all other employees.
o   Uphold shared company responsibility by properly reporting and/or mitigating unprofessional, unsafe, or other behavior which infringes upon Collins & Jewell Company Inc policy.
o   Understanding and properly operating within the Collins & Jewell Company Inc chain of command.
     
Development of training materials
o   Plan the development of training materials by utilizing tools such as flow charts or mind maps.
o   Schedule interviews or observations with key personnel and subject matter experts to learn the intricacies of the process.
o   Use/observe tasks, equipment, and processes in situ to glean real-world information to be integrated into training content.
o   Collaborate with the department to determine the appropriate media and format for the audience and information to be conveyed.
o   Create technically sound, comprehensive, and coherent training materials.  Group sections and steps in a manner that is digestible, logical, and useful for the end user.
o   Be creative in using additional resources in the development of training such as videos, samples, etc.  Include supporting information such as photos, diagrams, etc. to increase instructional value.
o   Utilize company software systems to house training content and training attendance records in accordance with standard company practices.
o   Create tests to determine pass/fail status of training attendees when relevant.
o   Participate in troubleshooting existing processes alongside production personnel when questions arise.  Integrate lessons learned into training updates.
Delivery of training
o   Collaborate for the scheduling of training and tracking of training expiration dates. Notify and coordinate with relevant parties to accomplish training goals.
o   Deliver classroom training.
       
Value-added responsibilities
o   Participate in production drafting using SolidWorks. 
o   Participate in other production processes as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications/Education:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or related field preferred, but not required.
 
Work Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years' work experience with a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
 
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
·       Knowledge of industry technical standards as they relate to Collins & Jewell Company Inc projects to include, but not limited to welding, structural steel design, fabrication, inspection, inspection methods and equipment, coatings, fastening, rigging, installation and safety.
·       Must be able to communicate succinctly with professionalism and clarity in both verbal and written form.
·       Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) is required.
·       Knowledge of drafting software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is preferred.
·       Knowledge of QMS and MRP systems is preferred.
·       Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
·       Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
·       Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and other employees of organization.
·       Ability to deliver training content effectively in a classroom setting.
