The Job You Will Perform:
- Act as a primary point of contact for new manufacturing employees;
- Responsible for the new employee experience, the associated functional/technical training that is required to be successful and the retention of new hires
- Active with new employees in selection, orientation, coordination of training, assessment and evaluations throughout training period
- Accountable for the planning, delivery, evaluation and administration of training programs to include new employee orientation, on-the-job, functional/technical skill development, compliance, safety, regulatory, corporate and other training as needed.
- Enhance and improve current training programs to align with established plant goals for safety, quality, production; Focus on repeatability and sustainability
- Work closely with manufacturing teams and employees on the development and delivery of operator skills training
- Coordinate with management team to identify training gaps and action items to close gaps
- Ensure job-training qualification and certification processes are followed
- Track training events, keep accurate training records and provide reports on training progress and completion to leadership; Ensures required training documentation is maintained
- Act as a subject matter expert on manufacturing processes
- Provide instruction or support at other facilities as requested.
- Communicate effectively with all levels across manufacturing plant
- Other duties as assigned
The Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Education, Human Resources, or other related degree or extensive manufacturing and supervisory experience.
- 2-5 years previous work experience in a manufacturing environment or corrugated industry preferred. Training Coordinator experience in a manufacturing setting would be desired
- A strong desire to mentor/coach/train and ensure new employees are successful in their new role with company
- Demonstrated strong relationship, influence, organizational, time management and communication skills
- Excellent oral and written communications; Experience developing and delivering training through various mediums
- Proficient in computer applications (including MS Office - Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Understands meeting facilitation principles, adult learning theory and techniques and best practices for creating/delivering effective training
- Understands manufacturing operations, processes, job positions/structure
- Experience compiling and publishing training metrics
