Clinical Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with current unencumbered license
- BSN; Masters Degree preferred
- Ability to act as a catalyst for creative change recommendations for organizational development and program quality/efficiency
- Excellent communications and organizational skills
- Proven problem solving ability
- Teaching experience
- Proven ability to assist and motivate students
Reports To:
Dean of Nursing
Responsible For:
Communication with community healthcare agencies to effectively arrange student clinical experiences in order to meet course clinical objectives. Development of a timely, effective student schedule of didactic, lab, and clinical sessions. Continuous improvement of scheduling and curriculum effectiveness.
Description of Duties:
- Promotes positive image and reputation of nursing program in classroom, academic community, healthcare community and community at large
- Networks to establish contacts with employers in the community
- Coordinates with clinical sites throughout the community to schedule clinical experiences which fit effectively with course objectives.
- Establishes course schedule for faculty and students for each individual term including clinical assignments and rotations
- Communicates with clinical sites
- Schedule/Assist with orientation to sites
- Notifies students and/or faculty of any changes made to their assigned sessions.
- Liaison between Career Services and Nursing Department
- Assists in orientation of new faculty members
- Attends faculty meetings and departmental meetings and communicates to facilitate operations.
- Participates in Nursing Advisory Board and committees
- Teaches courses within the RN and or PN curriculum as needed/assigned
- Provides emergency staffing of clinical and lecture instructors during absences
- Conducts evaluation of clinical settings’ effectiveness in meeting course objectives
- Provides input into strategic and fiscal planning
- Attunes to professional and community development, identifying application to nursing programs/needs
- Reports problems, needs, and outcomes regularly to Director(s) and/or Dean of Nursing
- Promotes communication and satisfaction among students and faculty
- Collaborates with other faculty and staff to promote the college’s outcomes
- Participates in faculty development events and opportunities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Maintains a positive professional manner and leads by example and counsel to others
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
