Job Description
One of the largest OC-based law firms located in Irvine (near John Wayne) is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate would be a mid-to-senior level Paralegal who can assist primarily with trademark prosecution as well as some patent prosecution. This is a flexible hybrid role, requiring at least one regularly scheduled day onsite.
Responsibilities
Trademark Prosecution
Prepare and file US and global applications for trademark registration as well as ancillary prosecution and post-registration maintenance filings.
Prepare correspondence to and communicate with clients and foreign associates regarding trademark prosecution and maintenance issues.
Coordinate the filing and defending of foreign oppositions and cancelation actions, including managing correspondence with the client and foreign associates, coordinating the gathering of evidence and legalizing documents as needed
Patent Prosecution
Conduct IP due diligence for domestic and foreign patents
Manage and oversee US and foreign patent portfolios
Prepare and file U.S. patent applications, responses to office actions, requests for extensions of time, petitions, issue fee forms, renewals, and other filings related to U.S. patent prosecution
Qualifications
8+ years of IP experience with at least 5 years of strong trademark experience.
Paralegal Certificate is strongly preferred but not required.
The compensation range for this position is $95,000-$105,000. The firm also provides a competitive benefits package and a great working environment.
