The Registered Nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. This position manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. This position is involved in the safe insertion of Vascular Access devices and serves as the resource for infusion related activities in the acute care setting.
The primary functions of the role consists of activities related to the safe insertion, delivery, site care, and maintenance of Vascular Access therapies including fluids, medications, blood/blood components, and parenteral nutrition.
