Job Description
A recognized hedge fund in New York City is looking to add a new Trade Surveillance Associate for a promising opportunity with their growing team in Manhattan.
Responsibilities:
The Trade Surveillance Associate will:
- Maintain and further develop the firm's overall approach to preventing and detecting the misuse of nonpublic information
- Coordinate and advance projects that seek to enhance the technology and processes designed to achieve these critical goals
- Help the team with other aspects of policies and procedures that seek to prevent and detect the misuse of nonpublic information, including policies that govern the firm's receipt of research, data, and outside expertise, and the training of investment professionals to equip them to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a Compliance, Regulatory, and/or Surveillance role
- Bachelor's Degree
- Familiarity with Financial Markets and Financial Services regulations
- Experience relating to the prevention of the misuse of nonpublic information (e.g., Advisers Act Section 204A, SEC Rule 10b-5, the EU Market Abuse Regulation)
- Proven skills in Project Management
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- A Law degree or academic background in Economics and/or Finance
