Apply today for the opportunity to join an exciting team making impactful change! JPMorgan’s Cash Equities Trade Support for the Americas is the primary point of contact for Traders that execute client orders across any of JPMorgan’s Global Equity Trading Desks.
As a Cash Equities Trading Assistant, within Market Operations, you will be overseeing the entire lifecycle of Equities Executing Broker trades, from collaborating with traders on booking and trade capture, to managing trade lifecycle events with corporate actions, pre-matching and settlements teams, ensuring smooth front to back operations processing.
Job responsibilities
- Support operations for agency and principal trading in the Americas markets.
- Complete intra-day / end of day processes including completeness controls and reconciliation investigation to ensure capture of new trading activity and general book management has been processed accurately.
- Understand the key elements of other infrastructure groups (i.e. P&L Reporting, Financial Control, Settlements & Pre-matching, Purchases and Sales (PnS), among others) and collaborate with them in matters relating to the Cash and Credit Equities businesses.
- Be responsible for agency account controls, making sure that exchange, broker and principal fills are correctly allocated to clients’ orders. Own the investigation of discrepancies and work with Technology and Client Services MO in finding its resolution.
- Facilitate cross-organizational communication, including real time liaising with multiple business lines and groups to accurately identify real time risk issues; must have the ability to work collaboratively, explain, and challenge trading issues as appropriate
- Participate and contribute to the various strategic initiatives; keep improving and evolving processes and business architecture
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Education: Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or similar
- Prior Experience: 2 years in Finance Operations roles.
- Financial Market Knowledge: Understanding of Cash Equities markets. Basic understanding of Swaps, Options and P&L.
- Trade Operations: Proficiency in trade lifecycle management, including trade capture, settlement and reconciliation.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify and mitigate operational and settlement risks associated with equity trading.
- Problem-solving Skills: Capability to troubleshoot and resolve trade-related issues efficiently under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision in trade processing.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with traders and functional partners (Operations, Technology, Finance) to ensure smooth trade processing and exceptions resolution.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in Trade Support operations.
- Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Skilled in handling extensive datasets, particularly adept in utilizing advanced formulas and pivot tables.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Systems Proficiency: Familiarity with trading systems (Order Management Systems) and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Prior Experience in Equities Trade Support, Client Services MO, Settlements, Purchase and Sales (PnS) or P&L reporting.
- Hold Series 99 FINRA license (Operations Professional).
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Work schedule
- This hybrid role requires going into the office three days a week with two days' flexibility to work from home, subject to change
- Working hours: 10am to End of Day.
