Principal Duties
As a Title Market Conduct Examiner/Auditor, you will:
- Conduct on-site and desk audits of title insurance agencies and their financial documents. Responsible for determining the nature, scope, and direction of the audit. Ability to analyze available financial data for potential issues. Review marketing information to determine compliance with statute and administrative rules.
- Conducts investigations into alleged violations of the law.
- Help consumers resolve disputes with companies and individuals licensed by the Department.
- Write investigative reports, assist the department attorneys in developing cases for hearing, and testify in administrative proceedings when needed.

- The ability to analyze financial data for potential issues.
- Experience in auditing financial statements.
- Experience as an insurance professional in the title insurance industry.
- Experience conducting investigations and compiling a case.
- Extensive knowledge of insurance rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong, well-rounded computer and writing skills.
Requirements
- Market Conduct Examiners are required to travel throughout the state to conduct audits and investigations. You must have a valid driver's license to be considered for this position as per Utah Administrative Code R27-7.
- If you are currently licensed with the Insurance Department, your license will be suspended while you are employed by the Department. Your license can be reactivated once you are no longer employed by the Department.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- Utah law prohibits an employee of the Utah Insurance Department to continue or initiate a monetary relationship, except as a policy holder, with an insurance agency or brokerage firm, insurance service organization, insurance adjuster, insurer, or person affiliated with an insurer. If the chosen applicant has a monetary relationship as described, that relationship must be inactivated prior to employment.
