ABOUT THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
The Community Services Department (CSD) is responsible for providing enriching, fun, and meaningful opportunities for the community to come together. CSD operates the Epicenter Sports Complex, RC Family Resource Center, RC Sports Center, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Lions Center East and West, and Goldy S. Lewis Community Center and James L. Brulte Senior Center. In addition to 7 facilities there, are more than 30 different parks open to the community for passive use, park shelter and event rentals, hiking trails, athletic fields and City planned special events.

YOUR IMPACT
The Theater Production Coordinator manages the operation and maintenance of all sound, video, lighting, mechanical, rigging, and related technical systems used in rehearsals, performances and rentals, and ensures the safety of staff, patrons and performers.
You'll be responsible for:
  • Coordinating technical set-ups in venues and sites across the City including, but not limited to: Cultural Center Playhouse, Celebration Hall, Studio Theater and Courtyard, Epicenter Sports and Entertainment Complex, and Community Centers.
  • Providing generalized group training in specialized fields (rigging, lighting, sound, video); ascertaining individual skills and maintaining training to provide a consistent, well-rounded, knowledgeable crew, and coordinating equipment training of technical staff.
  • Inspections of equipment and stage area, organizing shops and sheds, and maintaining safe work environment both indoors and out.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance and inventory of the facility and equipment and performing routine maintenance duties as necessary.
  • Enforcing safety standards, including PPE and OSHA, and coordinating crew safety training on a regular basis.
  • Creating production schedules and managing on-going budget, inventory, purchases, and inspections and maintenance of all technical theatre equipment and supplies.
  • Overseeing production load-in and load-out and serving as the production manager for rental clients.
  • Determining the technical needs of productions, including crew size, assignments, and call schedules, requirements of technical riders, and costs for any rented equipment necessary to meet contract requirements.
  • Advising on the staffing, set-up, operation and striking of all productions, scenic and properties construction and painting, and all aspects of stage lighting, sound and video production, special effects, fly-systems and rigging.
  • Enforcing policies and procedures concerning technical specifications, safety manuals and equipment maintenance.

Education and/or Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in Theater, Technical Theater or a related field, and four years of experience including two years in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience and strong working knowledge of blueprints, rigging, electrics, lighting, audio, and sounds systems is essential. Incumbent must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to meet deadlines and work a flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends) and have a strong sense of responsibility and organizational skills. A strong knowledge of the facilities, arrangements, resources, and equipment common to modern theater management; principles of supervision; laws and regulations governing technical operations; ability to train, schedule and supervise production crews.
Special Requirements:
