Description
Job Summary
Identifies, organizes and monitors the process flow of assigned component and sub assembly details to effectively meet and satisfy customer order scheduling demands.
Essential Job Duties
- Performs shop follow-up and expediting assignments to effectively support upper level schedule demand requirements.
- Coordinates expediting of outside process requirements, when needed, with assigned Procurement staff member.
- Generate and review computerized reports to identify shortages required for upcoming production schedules.
- Prioritize work center reports and coordinate with shop foreman, shop floor employees and/or designed leads to identify and schedule needed items.
- Utilize various system tools available to review and identify scheduling requirements to assure on time operation start/end and stock dates to support sub and/or top assembly demands.
- Alert upper level supervision when an unresolved capacity/material constraint is/will affect the ability to meet required stocking dates.
- Participate in production meetings, when called upon, to provide status of WIP requirements currently needed to support company's objective of perfect delivery.
- Notify interfacing departments to effect corrections to system data values that have resulted in invalid outputs, particularly those affecting shop load and scheduling.
- Comply with prescribed operating practices including those associated with QCI, MEP, and SOP processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate an earnest commitment to the company's objectives for Perfect Delivery, Perfect Quality, 6S, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and any other reduction initiatives.
Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- APICS course accredited training and/or seminars specific to the production and inventory control field preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years' work experience in a manufacturing type environment.
