About the Team: The Test Engineer is responsible for numerous testing functions in Electrified Powertrain Technology, including on-time hardware/software validation, problem-solving, project leadership, test program development, and customer/supplier collaboration with involvement in product development and application engineering operations while serving as a technical liaison for test activities that support internal & external customers.

- Execute Test Engineering operations, maintain & track costs/budgets and adhere to company policy.
- Actively participate in the definition of test plans, procedures, work instructions, DVP&R’s & FMEA’s.
- Setup, configure, and operate test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation as required by test plans, test standards & customer guidelines.
- Direct the implementation and deployment of test fixtures, testing apparatuses, and machines.
- Lead multiple major projects of high complexity requiring innovative solutions and customer interaction.
- Manage long-range project planning and budget tracking for multiple projects.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for product issues in the development & production stage with involvement in escalation/resolution activities.
- Provide specialist-level technical guidance to multiple groups ensuring the completion of testing activities for new & existing products to meet company & customer requirements.
- Lead and participate in department activities to test & develop electrified powertrains, including automatic transmissions, torque converters, axles, and e-mobility products, continuously improve existing testing & analysis techniques & to develop new departmental processes.
- Lead troubleshooting of customer issues & ensure that all testing/investigation activities are completed in order to achieve a final root cause resolution with the customer.
- Maintain test equipment resources for laboratory usage; direct actions necessary to develop alternatives to problems & to ensure that timelines are upheld.
Your Profile as a Test Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience with experience in leading technical projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, INCA, FAMOS, Axalant, SAP, and other relevant software
- Proven communication skills both verbal and written.
- Expert-level knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering.
- Experience with customer communications systems and engineering change systems.
