In the role of Sr Test Engineer, you will contribute to the implementation of the electricity meter automated firmware testing lifecycle activities, including developing test strategies and test plans, creating automated test cases, executing tests, developing and enhancing automated test framework, and developing software tools. You will work closely with the firmware development team and product management to understand expected behavior and provide feedback on products.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop software test plans, test designs, test objectives, and test cases
- Identify, analyze and document defects, questionable behavior, errors and inconsistencies with application functionality, output, online screens and content.
- Work with the automation team in development of automated test solutions using software testing tools and practices.
- Work with software and firmware development engineers in product design, code reviews, walkthroughs and product lifecycle inspections.
- Problem investigation and resolution.
- Respond to inquiries from technical support regarding functions and operation of software applications.
- Report test results and analysis.
Desired Qualifications
5 -10+ years of experience in software architecture and development largely focused in C#, Java, and other common languages
Strong Object Oriented design and development skills
Database development; SQL or other
Problem solving
Development and debug tools and use
Skills in understanding complex problems
Good at crafting up quality solutions to complex problems
Good communication skills both oral and written
