Tennis Maintenance Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION
Status: Seasonal, Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Responsibility: Medium level of supervision needed. Medium level of operational decision-making.
Reports to: Director of Racquets
Supervises: N/A
Skill:
• Basic Administrative Skills- Use of technology, verbal and written communication, business correspondence, organization, and time management.
• Advanced Teamwork and Communication Skills- Interact, work and relate with people, listen, speak, read, write, observe, use English fluently.
• Basic Customer Service Skills- Product knowledge, problem-solving skills, time management, attentiveness, patience, positive attitude, a willingness to go the extra mile, responsibility, professionalism.
• Excellent Safety Skills- Observe safety rules, safely operate equipment, CPR and First Aid.
• Advanced Driving Skills- Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Experience- Previous tennis court maintenance experience preferred
• Maintenance and Repairs- Must have the ability to operate small utility vehicles, miscellaneous power and hand tools, traverse ladders safely, carpentry, painting, general repairs while observing OSHA-approved personal safety guideline practices.
Effort: High- Walk and stand for extended periods of time. Bend, reach, push, pull, lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Work Conditions: Level 4- Often outdoors, working in hot/cold environment, inclement weather, variable schedule based on business demands, often duties require working with hazards.
Duties:
• Work primarily at the Tennis Facility, making trips to other club areas when necessary.
• Perform general maintenance tasks as directed
• Perform minor painting, carpentry duties
• Perform light janitorial duties such as outside furniture cleaning, trash pickup, restroom sanitizing
• Become familiar with court irrigation system, as well as the watering needs of the courts
• Water, sweep, line, and roll tennis courts as directed
• Ensure tennis courts remain free of weeds and debris
• Ensure water coolers are cleaned and filled on a daily basis
• Attend heat training class and observe best practices at all times per OSHA regulations
• Must possess an awareness of surroundings and unique demands of being in a private club setting.
• Must possess ability to multitask and perform time-sensitive tasks efficiently while working around club member activities.
