Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager is to perform general maintenance functions for the Maintenance Department in accordance with our mission statement, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Manager and/or the Director of Environmental Services, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. All duties will be performed with an emphasis on the value of providing quality customer service to all residents, family members, co-workers, volunteers, visitors, and other service professionals.
Skills and Knowledge
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with older adults, personnel, and support organizations

Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must possess a valid and unrestricted State of Michigan Driver's License
- Minimum of 1 year of advanced technical training in mechanical, electrical, and civil maintenance
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a Hospital, Long-Term care facility, or Fitness/Wellness Center
- Building Trade Experience
- Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of 50 lbs. Anything heavier than 50 lbs. must require assistance or assistive equipment for task to be performed safely.
