Essential Job Duties:The Textile Protection and Comfort Center (TPACC) is in search of a part time Research Technician to assist in comfort testing and research within the TPACC comfort labs. This person would be responsible for assisting TPACC staff with experiments in hand evaluation testing, moisture management testing, insulation and evaporative resistance testing, thermal sweating manikin testing, and human physiological studies. In addition to running test equipment, minor and basic repair to equipment will also be needed along with assistance in keeping the lab clean and free of clutter.
Training on the use, maintenance, and repair of the equipment will be provided.

- Must be proficient in Excel and Word
- Must be able to physically able to dress a static manikin with little difficulty
- Must be mechanically incline and able to make minor repairs to equipment
Per federal funding requirements, US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required for this position.Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:
- Able to manually lift a dressed manikin (80 lbs) and place on a stand
- Understand basic heat transfer or has experience in moisture management testing
