One year Research Technician position in the Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory.
Basic Description of Role:
Assist in all aspects of research being conducted in the Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory. Supervise and train students who participate in the research program of the Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory.
Essential Functions:
1. Prepare studies examining the effects of various pharmacological agents. Test research subjects in behavioral and pharmacological experiments. Maintain records and data from experiments being conducted.
2. Maintain laboratory equipment. Inventory and order equipment and supplies. Prepare solutions. Maintain and update all procedures in the laboratory manual.
3. Supervise, schedule, train and recruit (with Dr. Smith) student research assistants.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in psychology, biology or neuroscience with 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience. Experience with computers required. Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills also required.
