ResponsibilitiesThis position manages all aspects of projects in the EOAS workspace, including the electronics and main shops from design, budgeting, fabrication, installation, documentation, and support.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing fiscal activities and supervising EOAS workspace staff and users.
- Training staff and students working in the EOAS workspace in safety procedures for operating all machinery.
- Installing and maintaining departmental multimedia devices including but not limited to projectors, display panels, and controllers.
- Managing other departmental resources such as electronics related to instrumentation, both internal and external; instrumentation on the roof, seismograph, water monitoring wells, map wall, Sphere of Science, weather-casting studio, and the department’s vehicles.
- Designing, programing, and fabricating new devices for specialized research applications.
- Performing and coordinating research and teaching experiments and assisting and training shop users.
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Minimum starting salary for the position is in the high $50,000s. Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
