Description
- Answers and directs all internal and external calls from the main hospital number in a prompt and courteous manner, working with audio and radio paging systems.
- Answers and screens all internal and external calls and pages/direct callers and emergency teams to the appropriate individual or department.
- Provides daily maintenance service for the paging system.
- Knowledge of workstation applications and UH on call system used in the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Full time days shift and part time evening shift available!
- The location is the Cleveland Medical Center.
Qualifications
- High School Equivalent / GED required.
- 2+ years of experience as a medical receptionist, telephone answering service, hospital, or telephone company operator.
- Medical Terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to use good judgment.
- Excellent spelling, strong interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, proven good work and attendance record.
- Knowledge of basic office equipment such as computer systems, fax and copy machines.
- Knowledge of phone and paging system.
