Telephone Operator - Telecommunication - PBX I

We are seeking a skilled and attentive PBX Operator to join our team. As a PBX Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and professional communication for St. John's Regional Medical Center. You will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing calls, directing calls to the appropriate departments or individuals, and providing excellent customer service.
- Answer Main PBX Switchboard, correctly routing all external and internal calls.
- Perform all Emergency code notifications, following established policies and procedures.
- Perform all Voice, overhead paging.
- Perform all urgent radio pages upon request using in house beeper system.
- Assist any and all Customers with any questions related to hospital Telephone service.
- Assist Telecommunications Supervisor maintaining in house Telephone Directory.
- Assist in any urgent patient room phone repair/replacement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- High School education preferred.
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications.
- Ability to speak and enunciate clearly.
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to prioritize responses in emergency situations.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- Six months on-the-job related experience with automated telecommunications equipment.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
