Job Opening Summary
The PBX operator has a large range of duties. These responsibilities include monitoring all incoming calls that come into the hospital through the switchboard, answering and announcing all "code" calls, monitoring alarms and monitoring the CCTV for the hospital and others as required. The PBX operator assists the Patient Registration Department with clerical duties, as needed. All PBX operators are to abide by the policies and procedures established by the department and hospital at all times.

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Answering multi-phone line or switchboard experience.
- Working under stress, dealing with different situations simultaneously.
- Working in a hospital environment and flexible hours.
- Experience in dealing with the public and customer service.
- Discretion is necessary in the handling of confidential information to remain in compliance with all HIPAA requirements.
- Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
