Job Title: Supply Chain/Accounting Operations Manager
Status: Full-Time/ Exempt
Reports to: VP Finance
Location: Orlando, FL
Position Summary:
With a strong, solid background in inventory management, the Supply Chain/Accounting Operations Manager will take ownership of inventory and purchasing, including the management of warehouse teams, vendor management, contract negotiation and strategic direction. Position will also support Fleet manager in development of budget and assist in the procurement of vehicles
Job Description:
Inventory Management
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the inventory management activities and budget
- Develop, implement and communicate inventory management policies and procedures
- Manage internal controls and regulatory compliance procedures related to inventory
- Monitor inventory levels and inventory movement using manual and/or computerized inventory systems
- Confer with other department management and staff to coordinate inventory management activities (coordination of deliveries, quantities, types, etc.)
- Minimize exposure to obsolete and excess inventory; manage excess and aging stock
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconcile with Accounting inventory system
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts
- Promote quality and accuracy standards in all warehouse functions
Fleet Management
- Keep equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance and calling for repairs
- manage vehicles through their full lifecycle and maintain average age of less than 5 years
- maintain electronic database of sales, registration, inspections and maintenance of the Company’s fleet
- ensure tracking tool is installed and working on all vehicles
- coordinate and manage to a budget the maintenance of the fleet that is in compliance with manufacturer’s warranty and safety regulation
- perform regular safety inspections on the fleet
- perform monthly (minimum) inspections of every vehicle in the fleet
- verify vehicle registration, insurance tags and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles in existing fleet
- Work within budgetary/financial objectives set by management
Purchasing
- Liaising with internal stakeholders (engineering, network operations, facilities, customer operations) to forecast procurement requirements for a rolling twelve months;
- Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with emphasis on the purchase of network components (duct, fiber, hand holes, fiber, splice cases, CPE, central office/POP equipment);
- Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for installation/deployment;
- Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the Company's needs;
- Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates;
- Responsible for personnel administration and development of staff including hiring, mentoring, evaluating, and disciplinary action if necessary
- Foster close working relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales, engineering and network operations);
- Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spend;
- Ensure requisition and purchasing system is effectively operating and is protecting the Company’s interests; and
- Full involvement specifically with engineering department leadership on the evaluation of new and existing materials and their successful integration to service delivery
Other
- Recruiting, hiring, and managing team members
- Implementing and setting operational standards for staff to follow
- Develop and mentor staff
- Develop and maintain the policies and procedures manual
- Special projects as directed
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics required with 7 years’ experience in related fields
- Experience with telecommunications infrastructure
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in a receiving role with 2 years in a supervisory role
- Able to analyze data with an operational understanding to identify, prevent, and solve problems
- High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Valid driving license and clean driving record required
- “Hands on” approach to all tasks
- Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results; and
- Proven appreciation of customer service expectations and cost demands of business;
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly;
- Must pass a criminal background and drug test;
- Position is in Orlando; however, travel within Florida will be required.
